Even if iced out car accessories, wheels, exteriors, interiors aren’t your thing this site is worth checking out. They have a really cool story, and blew up super fast. Had a little something to do with the picture below, and a small little award … you should check them out in DUB, or just do a google search!
So I am just chilling, blowing some time to kill, and I find this guy wrecking a killer drag bike into a minivan. Turns out he was shooting for a tv show and just lost control. Stupid guy but awesome bike.
The machine runs on batteries, does 8.22@155 mph in the quarter, and costs about seven cents per run to operate. DANK! Some say ya got have pushrods and a mean loping cam to be hot rod or whatever. I say, the sport, the genre, the idea, it is all about innovation. The first people to hot rod took what they had and did what they could to make something fresh.
Same thing with the electrics. Just cause it is different does not mean it should be cast aside, as I think this example clearly shows. Far from shunning the idea, I think we need to push for more stuff like this. A enviro-friendly drag bike that almost run’s an eight flat is fucking cool, no matter what!
He always said “There’s no productive value in being a race car driver. You’ll just end up dead and for what.” He was wrong though. Colin McRae recently passed away and left behind a tremendous legacy that has impacted millions of people, not to mention that he also built an empire that has provided work for a large number of people and vast sums of money for charities he was involved with. Doesn’t sound like a lack of productive value.
People who choose to make their careers in the competitive arena are important because they remind us of the spirit within to strive for better things. Seeing an athlete push themselves to new limits is an awe-inspiring thing to observe all by itself, but the ability to impact others coupled with the spectacle before us becomes a transcending experience that can be enjoyed by all. As a society we need people like this, who are willing to lay it all out on the line, who can put aside the fear and find greatness.
RIP Colin Mcrae
So, I owe my odd interest in cars in general to my big brother who kept me well balanced between the barbie jeep and shelby cobra hot wheel (my favorite at the time among a few hundred) I inherited aroung age seven…
He moved on to begin his extensive portfolio of almost every cool, luxury, ugly but ferocious, soccer mom SUV turned hot rod, the most beautiful impala I’ve ever seen (with something like 6/700 horsepower?)… a boat (a really fast red one — I know nothing about boats)… okay I’ll stop there but the list goes on. Ah hem… perhaps he’ll comment … I’m sure I’ve described his beasts in the worst way possible.
He has this insane bike, that I paid vectorized homage to on his myspace profile that I insisted on creating… still living vicariously . And this rat rod that I won’t attempt to describe… He’s somewhere on killbillet.com ——- I’ll dig that up or coerce him to get online and correct my making him sound lame (little sisters are good at that). At any rate check it out…

Maybe he’ll share what’s going on with this thing, I know it’s a beast…. something like a whiskey bottle shifter … plates ” RAT ROD”… the rest I won’t touch

I posted some rockabilly car accessories, some hot rod – rat rod – racing – pin up – postcard books I dig, some decals, and other miscellaneous unnecessary but kinda necessary modifying fun…
